    1. Duration: 6 months (potential for extension).
    2. Location: Remote, with occasional travel to client sites (Cleveland, OH).
    3. 1099 Contractor Rate: Up to $70/hour
    4. W-2 Rate: Up to $60/hour
    5. 1099 Preferred


    About the Opportunity

    A well-established CPA firm specializing in Accounting Advisory and Consulting is seeking a Senior Accounting Consultant for a 6-month contract engagement. In this role, you will be representing the firm as a trusted advisor to its clients, providing high-level financial consulting services across a variety of industries.

    The ideal candidate is a seasoned accounting professional with prior consulting experience, strong financial reporting and operational accounting expertise, and the ability to work with clients on a range of accounting challenges. Industry specialization is not required, but experience working with privately held businesses (under $1B in revenue) is preferred.

    This role is fully remote, but occasional travel to client sites may be required. Candidates located in Cleveland, OH and surrounding areas are highly preferred.


    Key Responsibilities

    1. Act as a representative of the CPA firm, serving as a key accounting advisor to client organizations.
    2. Support clients with month-end and year-end close, general ledger reconciliation, and financial reporting.
    3. Analyze financial statements, prepare management reports, and provide insights into financial health and performance.
    4. Assist clients in improving financial processes, internal controls, and accounting policies.
    5. Provide audit preparation and coordination support, working closely with internal finance teams and external auditors.
    6. Work directly with client CFOs, controllers, and finance teams to resolve accounting and operational challenges.
    7. Deliver ad hoc consulting services, addressing a variety of accounting and finance-related issues as they arise.
    8. Exposure to ASC 606 (revenue recognition), ASC 842 (lease accounting), and other technical accounting matters is a plus, but not required.


    Qualifications

    1. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3+ years in an advisory or consulting capacity.
    2. Experience working in a CPA firm’s advisory/consulting practice or a mix of public/private industry experience preferred.
    3. Strong general accounting knowledge, including financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and internal controls.
    4. Experience working with privately held businesses (under $1B in revenue) is a plus.
    5. Ability to work on multiple client engagements, adapt to various industries, and represent the firm professionally.
    6. Prior experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) preferred.
    7. CPA designation is not required but preferred.
    8. Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, and excellent communication with client leadership.
    9. Ability to travel occasionally to client locations as needed.
