    Senior IT Architect | 6+MONTHS | FORTUNE 500 | CHICAGO, IL (HYBRID - ONSITE)

    1. Local to Chicago preferred
    2. $80-$85 per hour (W2)


    PURPOSE:

    Senior IT Architect reports to the Application Development Manager or Application Development Director. The candidate makes well-thought-out decisions on complex or ambiguous systems software engineering issues and ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency.


    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop and maintain the high-level design plan for the overall logical and technical IT architecture.

    • Provide technical leadership and consulting across the organization, from strategic decision making down to the project planning level.

    • Demonstrate organizational commitment for all high-level infrastructure plans, and initiate and participate in projects to evaluate technologies and methods for implementing these plans.

    • Fulfill the role as an execution leader in application software architecture and engineering.

    • Design, develop, test, debug and implement complex operating system components, software tools, and utilities.

    • Makes recommendations for modifications to existing software to fit specialized needs and configurations.

    • Establishes, communicates and executes common goals and directions for teams and provides direction and guidance for technical staff.

    • Integrate business-level processes and data within an enterprise and between organizations by linking applications, whether purchased or developed in-house, to better support business processes, reduce cycle times (or latencies), costs, and increase agility to respond quickly to new business opportunities.


    EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 10+ years’ work experience in application and systems architecture.

    • Proven experience in systems design and development.

    • Strong understanding of information processing principles and practices.

    • Solid grounding in core enterprise applications.

    • In-depth technical knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems.

    • Working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards.

    • Strong knowledge of hardware and software evaluation principles and practice.
