    Interim Controller Needed ASAP - Redwood City, CA

    • Contract Length: 3-5 Months

    • Compensation: $85-$100/hour

    • Location: Redwood City, CA (Onsite at Client)

    Our client, a thriving non-profit organization in Redwood City, CA, seeks an experienced Interim Controller to join their team immediately. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled finance professional to make a significant impact in a short-term role while our client searches for a permanent hire.

    About the Organization:

    This dynamic non-profit has $30 million in annual revenue and is dedicated to empowering individuals with special needs and their families. The organization consists of three separate entities, requiring expert financial management and oversight.

    Role Overview:

    Our client is looking for a hands-on Interim Controller to lead their financial operations starting early to mid-July. This role reports directly to the CFO and oversees a team of three self-sufficient staff accountants. The ideal candidate will hit the ground running, requiring minimal onboarding while maintaining high standards of financial management.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage month-end close processes efficiently and accurately

    • Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts

    • Strengthen internal controls and financial processes

    • Prepare and analyze financial statements for all three entities

    • Oversee the preparation of three separate Form 990 filings

    • Support two annual audits

    • Provide strategic financial insights to the leadership team

    • Ensure compliance with GAAP and non-profit accounting standards

    Required Skills and Experience:

    • Proven experience as a Controller, preferably in the non-profit sector

    • Strong knowledge of non-profit accounting principles and practices

    • Expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting

    • Proficiency in Sage Intacct, ADP Workforce Now, and Microsoft Office Suite

    • Experience with multi-entity organizations and Form 990 preparation

    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

    • Strong communication and leadership abilities

    • Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to new environments
