    IT SERVER ADMINISTRATOR  | $45-50/HR W2  | CONTRACT TO HIRE! 

    One of those hidden gem employers of Richmond, VA is looking for an experienced  IT Server Administrator to join their team. This is a contract position, but is budgeted to convert to FTEafter completion of the contract period.

    • Pay: $45-$50/HR W2

    • Start Date: ASAP

    • Contract to Hire

    • Location: West End of Richmond, VA (Hybrid - On-site 3 days per week)

     

    Position Details: In this role, you will be responsible for managing the virtual environment, handle various server and virtual tasks, assist with Microsoft administration, oversee backup processes, and assist with project management of infrastructure related projects as needed. This is a small, nimble team with a multitude of learning opportunities and room for growth. The ideal candidate would even want to research the latest server/virtualization technologies/trends and feed into the overall technology strategy and roadmap.

     

    Experience (preferred):

    • Experience working with Microsoft technologies including Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, and Hyper-V or other virtualization platforms.

    • Strong understanding of backup and recovery processes.

    • Experience managing small to medium sized Infrastructure projects.

    Qualifications:

    • 3-5 years of total IT experience with a min of 2 years of Server Admin experience in a corporate environment. 

    • Ability to juggle and prioritize competing needs including server administration, backup processes, and special projects.

    • Ability to provide after hours support from time to time is required.

    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

    • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Information Technology, or related; or equivalent work experience.
